Additional Inscriptions

We specialise in adding your additional inscriptions onto
an existing memorial in situ.

What does ‘in situ’ mean?

We are a memorial mason who adds your additional inscriptions onto the existing memorial actually in its fixed position (in the cemetery or church yard). There are many advantages for this method :

  • It means there is no need to remove your memorial, which could be damaged freeing it from the ground anchorage.
  • The memorial remains in place so you are not without it for any time.
  • It is significantly cheaper for our client as there is no charge for removal and refitting (often requires NAMM fittings).

What is the process?

We will visit your existing memorial and measure the inscription and also identify the fonts used. We will then create a template for you to check for accuracy and also ask if you are happy with the match (we can get an exact match for you).

After we have the permit through from the regulators we will attend site and add the inscription for you, colouring the inscription to match the original. At this point we might also ask you if you would like the original inscription re-coloured if required.

Being Creative

If you have no further room on your memorial for your additional inscription there are a few options:

  • We can remove and replace your memorial with a new one to your chosen design (the original memorial is recycled responsibly)
  • A kerb set might be permitted to be added, which can have additional smaller memorials
  • Inscriptions can be added onto smaller memorials and secured to the base (hearts for example)
  • Inscriptions can be added to the front of the bases.
